Restaurant La Cabaña, Tías

Since opening the restaurant La Cabaña in Macher Deb and Darren Spurr have made a dream come true here on Lanzarote: to run their own quality restaurant offering everything as they personally like to present it. After seven years in the business their success shows that their idea works out very well.

Maybe the biggest secret of success is the small size of the restaurant. With only 10 tables and maximum 30 people everything gets a personal and intimate touch. On the weekly changing menu you find special dishes worked out with a creative finesse by Darren, and Deb takes her time to make everybody feel comfortable and welcome. This personal contact makes friendships and for a long time now La Cabaña has a big circle of clients that come again and again to enjoy the special atmosphere and have a good night out.

Very modern and quite original is the open room concept in la Cabaña. The guests have the opportunity to look right into the kitchen and be part of the whole cooking process. That is a guarantee for freshness, shows the great professionalism of Darren and creates an open and honest ambient.

All the ingredients in La Cabaña are homemade, from the starters to the sauces and the exquisite deserts. The changing and short menu also helps to offer only the freshest produce and over the years Deb und Darren have found suppliers that offer exactly what they want. „We are always looking for special ingredients when we go to buy the food for the restaurant. We like to surprise our guests with new creations. There are too many restaurants on the island that all offer the same, we try to be more creative" tells Darren.

Also the selection of wines take a lot of time out of Debs schedule, she always tries to find something new. Next to the wine from the island you will find on the wine menu quality wines from all over the world, for example Argentina or South Africa. “We like our guests to take their time over a dinner here. In a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere you can enjoy and take time to try something new. We always tell people about the specialities on the menu and try to offer them something new and unusual? explains Deb.

The La Cabaña opens five nights a week (except Sunday and Monday) and a visit to this positively different restaurant is always worthwhile. Due to limited seating booking is highly recommended.
