La Casa del Parmigiano, Puerto del Carmen
The Casa del Parmigiano is one of the nicest eateries in Puerto del Carmen. Its situation, in the lively sports centre Fariones, has a beautiful area protected from the wind, where you can enjoy the good weather. The very popular terrace has a view of the sports activities in the centre. During the daytime being here is a pleasure and a delight which is made doubly so in the evening. As many of the customers share this opinion, we recommend making a reservation for dinner. The Casa del Parmigiano also has a very comfortably furnished dining room.
The selection of the freshest produce, grown in their own fields in Tiagua and Tao, as well as the daily preparation of sauces and vegetables, explains why this restaurant is regarded as having the best pasta on Lanzarote. Filled pasta with ham from Parma, a sauce of three mushrooms and rucola, or ravioli filled with salmon, prawn and bacon are some examples of their home made dishes. Other variations which are pasta based like spaghetti, penne, ravioli and tagliatelle are always on the menu. They are prepared with fresh fruit of the sea (hummer, prawns or clam) or vegetables, and of course always using the best extra virgin olive oil.
To whet your appetite there are numerous choices like carpaccio of meat or salmon - zucchini, tasty Italian Bresaola or a mixture of Italian sausages and hams. Everyday you will find apart of the menu a starter, pasta, meat and fish dishes. Grilled tuna, rice with cuttlefish in its own ink, or dried fish with rice are some examples of the fish dishes. As for meat, beef fillet is the main dish, cooked how you like it on the grill, or with a sauce of mushrooms, gorgonzola cheese or with hot pepper. All the desserts, as well as the pasta, are home made.
The wide selection of wine is also surprising. There are wines from Lanzarote, Portugal and Chile, as well as a wide range of Spanish and Italian wines, all of them very well priced. The young and well trained staff of the Casa del Parmigiano is always friendly and highly professional. The Casa del Parmigiano is run by the same owners as the very popular Italian restaurant Antica Trattoria, which is on the promenade of Puerto del Carmen close to the beach La Peñita.
